What is IdM and what do you need to do?

IdM stands for Identity Management and is the gateway to IT services at FAU. IdM is used by all members of FAU.

Students who have been enrolled receive a letter with information on activating IT services. This letter can be accessed in the campo online portal (Home > My Studies > Student Service > Documents > Reports > User information letter). You will also receive the letter by post.

As soon as you have received your letter, please activate your ID in the Identity Management Portal (IdM Portal). In the next step, please activate your personal email address and your FAU mailbox in the IdM portal under Requests/Tasks.

Important: You must read your emails from the University. They give you important information about examination dates, re-registration dates or important information from the Executive Board. You can also set up email forwarding to your private email address.
