Getting around by bike, bus and train

Many students in Erlangen use bicycles as a means of transportation to get quickly to and from the university buildings. There are bike repair stations at various FAU locations.

The region offers a very well-developed public transport system. There are regular buses in Erlangen and trains between Nuremberg and Erlangen. Nuremberg also has subway trains and trams. Students in Bavaria have been able to use the discounted Bavarian ticket since October 1, 2023. This is equivalent to a Deutschlandticket at a reduced price. Further information is available from the local public transport company (VGN). The Erlangen-Nuremberg semester ticket is currently not offered.

All students at the School of Business, Economics and Society in Nuremberg can apply for a paid parking permit for the underground parking garage. A valid IdM account is required for this.
