Visiting Prof. Dr. Cornelia Weise, Chair of Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Health Technology

Each semester, FAU President Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger visits professors in their institutes. He visits them there to talk about their research, to discover what is close to their heart and to get to know them better.

Our series introduces you to the researchers and gives an impression of the President’s meeting with them.

In episode 31, the President visits Prof. Dr. Cornelia Weise. She is the Chair of Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Health Technology.

Prof. Weise’s research follows the motto “No health without mental health”, and focuses on several different areas, including culturally sensitive clinical psychology.

She is particularly interested in the area where medicine and psychology overlap. She also hopes to find ways to improve access to psychotherapy.

Before coming to FAU, Cornelia Weise was a professor in Marburg. She spent two years in Sweden as a postdoctoral researcher.

For a long time, Weise wanted to become a pediatrician. Today, she is still interested in physical illnesses, even though she became a psychologist.
